What to do on Mondays in Yogyakarta?
You may not know that some famous places are (partly) closed on Mondays. I hope you don’t read this too late..
- Borobudur : Borobudur is closed for the structure. This largest Buddhist temple in the world only available to visit on the temple ground.
Update : Now Borobudur is open on Mondays. - Prambanan : This Hindu temple is also only visitable beyond the main area that you cannot go inside the temples.
Update : Now Prambanan is open on Mondays. - Sultan’s Palace : The Palace of Sultan’s of Yogyakarta is closed on Monday
- Sonobudoyo museum : This one of the main museums in Yogyakarta that lies not far from Sultan’s Palace takes break on Mondays
