What to do on Mondays in Yogyakarta? You may not know that some famous places are (partly) closed on Mondays. I hope you don’t read this too late..
- Borobudur : Borobudur is closed for the structure. This largest Buddhist temple in the world only available to visit on the temple ground.
- Prambanan : This Hindu temple is also only visitable beyond the main area that you cannot go inside the temples.
- Sultan’s Palace : The Palace of Sultan’s of Yogyakarta is also closed on Monday
- Sonobudoyo museum : This one of the main museums in Yogyakarta that lies not far from Sultan’s Palace takes break on Mondays
So, if you haven’t arrived in Yogyakarta yet, do reschedule your itinerary before it’s too late..
