makam kotagede

Kotagede, Plaosan and Prambanan

Before Yogyakarta, there was Kotagede

The trip starts in Kotagede, previously was the capital of Mataram kingdom before it’s split to become Surakarta (Solo) and Yogyakarta. There is the oldest mosque in Yogyakarta that blended the Javanese style and Hinduism in architecture. Right next to it is the first Sultan of Mataram graveyard compound which will bring you back to the past of Yogyakarta.

Then the trip carries on to the beautiful Plaosan temple that commonly called as the twin temple. You will find a blend of Buddhism and Hinduism style here, also a favorite for photo session.

The trip will end in the majestic Prambanan temple.

Note : Prambanan temple is closed on Mondays
