Cooking class is a delightful and enriching experience while you are in Yogyakarta! Here are some highlights of what you might expect:
- Hands-On Learning: You’ll get to actively participate in preparing dishes, from buying the ingredients from a traditional market to learning techniques that you may never experience before.
- Expert Guidance: Classes are led by our home cook who can provide valuable tips and tricks, answer your questions, and help you improve your cooking skills.
- Diverse Cuisines: In our cooking class you will explore new flavors and cooking styles with special ingredients, vegetables, herbs, and more.
- Social Interaction: Cooking class can be a great way to meet new people who share your interest in food. It’s also a fun activity to do with friends or family.
- Tasting and Enjoying: One of the best parts is getting to taste the foods of your labor. Many classes end with a meal where you can enjoy the dishes you’ve prepared.
After doing cooking class in the morning, you will then visit Kotagede, the remains of the first capital of Mataram Sultanate, established in the 16th century. Some of the remains of the old Kotagede are remains of the palace, the royal cemetery, the royal mosque, and defensive walls and moats. Kotagede is well known internationally by its silver crafting.
