Wayang Jogja Night Carnival (WJNC) has become a flagship event in Yogyakarta, held annually to commemorate the city's anniversary on October 7th.

The WJNC is a street carnival incorporating a wayang theme. It has been held regularly since 2016. The carnival performances incorporate choreography, costume, contemporary music, and lighting. Over time, the carnival concept has evolved into street art, retaining the main elements of the WJNC: the Jogja Monument, decorated floats, wayang puppets, and a nighttime performance. The WJNC presents a carnival with a street art concept and presents themes from wayang stories, involving participants from 14 sub-districts in Yogyakarta.
